A true wooden ship, her hull is solid mahogany, decks are Indian teak, and her hollow wooden mast is made of American spruce. Ventura is 62.5 feet long, weighs 22 tons and carries 35 guests. She was launched in 1921, and was originally owned by philanthropist George Baker (founder of today's Citibank) as Mr. Bakers' private duck hunting yacht! EXCLUSIVE PRIVATE PARTY YACHT CHARTERS PRIVATE EVENING COCKTAIL PARTY SAIL: $3,500. Our most popular evening sail! This three hour sail includes exclusive hire of Ventura -- your group only aboard -- cocktail party menu with an open beer, wine and soft drink bar included, for up to 20 guests. Sailing any Monday through Saturday, this private, three hour cruise features a great harbor tour, sailing to the Statue of Liberty, and a fabulous gourmet picnic lunch for 15 guests. More than 15 in your group? Add $125 per person after the first 15. Up to 35 guests may enjoy this great sail! Price includes complimentary beer, wine and soda! OPEN TO THE PUBLIC CRUISES FRIDAY EVENING SUNSET SAILS -- $45!!! "The best after-work chill in New York" -- NY Times. A Friday night sunset sail aboard Ventura has been a regular end-of-the-week tradition for many New Yorkers and visitors since we began here in 1987! Come alone, bring a date, or friends from the office. Boarding begins at 6:00 and leaves the dock at 6:15. Price includes our self-serve honor bar -- a sailing hospitality tradition carried on aboard this grand lady of the harbor. You may also bring your own beer or wine -- no hard liquor allowed -- as well as picnic goodies and snacks. Ventura returns to the dock between 8:30 and 8:45 depending on wind and tide.
